This Masquerade
Last night on the Lower East Side, Yves Saint Laurent decided to rent out an old Gothic synagogue and throw a Parisienne-inspired masquerade party. It was the launch party for their new fragrance (itself rather conveniently called Parisienne), but despite all of the Left Bank window dressing this party felt like nothing so much as old school pre-recession downtown NYC. A luxury brand (YSL) paid for a full open bar...the suits mingled with the models, hipsters, and misfits...Mr. Newton and Bronques shot photos...the MisShapes and Alexandra Richards played awesome music...and everything seemed right with the world for one night. Vive la fete! xxx
