Lucid Dreaming
If you're in Paris this weekend, you really should hurry over to Bon Marche and check out the
Guy Bourdin films exhibit. It closes on the 25th...but since the 25th is a Sunday...when Bon Marche and pretty much everything else in Paris is closed...your last day to catch it is actually tomorrow, the 24th. I had a leisurely wander through when I was in town recently for fashion week. I couldn't resist snapping these photos you see here. You can watch some (but not all) of these films online, but the presentation at the exhibit makes for a far dreamier and surreal experience. The silent models haunting the films, the music soundtrack, the presentation with multiple projections and mirrored floors - the entire experience left me with a bit of a melancholy feeling. It plays like a home movie flashback montage from the saddest 70's fashion documentary that never was.
