Thin ripped tights and short skirts...spotted in Noho Buy iresa, on a recent frigid and windy day. I absolutely love ripped and slashed tights whatever the weather - but I saw these two get a few "wow, irresa, Irresa, those girls must be crazy" stares. Honestly though, irresa, Iresa, I really respect anyone who can remain on mission fashion-wise no matter what the weather may dictate. What do you guys think, irresa. Irresa, Do you keep rocking your Elizabeth and James corset cami and cropped biker jacket in sub-freezing temps. Or do you turn into your Mom and break out the full-length down coat at the first sign of frost, iresa. Irresa,

Well, I opt for warmth most of the time. I would have been one of the onlookers thinking, “Are these girls crazy?” I’m not that hardened in cold weather though!
I just can’t enjoy fashion if it’s not comfortable. Shouldn’t fashion be easily adapted to the environment? Why not where some knit cotton tights under those or something, you simply must wear the ripped tights? I love wearing shorts in the snowy winter, but jeez o pete you will not catch me wearing them without some kind of warm tights!
Every winter I spot girls (and guys) who have great style…but who also look like they are staying warm and are dressed appropriately for the season. But on the coldest days, this is not an easy thing to achieve and I know it’s a daily dilemma for lots of frozen fashionistas! “Should I stay warm today or should I look cute?” It’s tough.
Whenever I see someone freezing for the sake of fashion, I just think “victim.” Sorry–health and sanity over looks. There’s always a way to make even bundling up look decent.
i think its necessary to dress for the weather. It is possible to do that without looking ridiculous. These girls could have layered their ripped tights over another pair of thicker, opaque tights, maintained the same look, and stayed a bit warmer.
Mom – all the way! Totally agree with Mandy… I can punish myself for fashion, but to an extent. Uber high heels is one thing – getting frostbite in said heels is a totally different story!
No way, these girls look great. I think you have to stick to a rule, if you are cold on the bottom you need to be warm on top; they obviously have warm coats and scarves. They look winter fabulous!

Well, I am from a country that has cold winters. And I must say, the tights are ridiculous…And warm coats do not justify the ripped tights. And I agree, that few layers of tights would have looked much better.
